WHAT IS FUROSHIKI?
Furoshiki is the ancestral art of wrapping gifts according to a Japanese tradition as refined as it is codified. As a tribute to the thousand-year-old know-how of this Japanese art of giving, our 2022 Christmas collection is dressed this year in graphic and elegant motifs directly inspired by the Furoshiki folding technique. In spring, in the gardens of Thés de la Pagode®, the "Imperial Plucking" is practiced: the pluckers select only the bud ("Pekoe" in Mandarin) and the first leaf. Another technique used is "fine picking". In this case, the pickers remove the bud and the first two leaves.
